Laser Dentistry in Hemet
Innovative, proven laser dentistry offers a more comfortable dental experience with fewer needles and less anxiety. At Formica Family Dental, we use advanced Solea® laser technology from Convergent Dental to provide gentle, precise dental care for patients of all ages. This innovative approach reduces the need for traditional drills, injections, and sutures while helping make many procedures faster and more comfortable.
What Is Laser Dentistry?
Solea laser dental technology is an innovative dental solution from Convergent Dental that prioritizes gentle dentistry without the stigma of needles and grinding sounds. This advanced laser technology allows our team to perform many dental procedures with greater precision while minimizing discomfort and reducing recovery time for many patients.
Lasers used in Hygiene
Daily we use our diode lasers in our hygiene department as part of the cleaning and deep cleaning procedures. These lasers are especially good at killing bacteria and promoting healing. We also can use these lasers to arrest the course of canker sores and fever blisters and even muscle and joint pain.
Lasers instead of local anesthetics
Our other CO2 laser is great at doing routine cavities. About 90% of our patients use this laser for their fillings and prefer it over local anesthetics, (shots like lidocaine). More than half of these patients have no pain through the procedure. The rest feel some or even a lot of cold or uncomfortable sensations, but much less than the needle stick or prefer it to the numb feeling that takes hours to go away. The other 10% do better with being numb. Yes you can mix and match, use the laser on some and anesthetic on other more sensitive teeth.
The CO2 laser and soft tissue
This laser excels at soft tissue procedures, tongue ties, fibromas, purple vascular lip bumps. One of our favorite procedures is sculpting the gums to a more symmetric and normal appearance. Procedures done with the laser have less pain after, less bleeding and faster recoveries than other methods.
